A commercial furniture distributor in New Jersey needed to import office chairs and flat-packed metal storage cabinets from China. The goods were intended for warehouse restocking and scheduled deliveries to business customers across the northeastern United States.

Our team coordinated the shipment from supplier collection in Shanghai through ocean transport and final warehouse delivery in New Jersey.

The two containers departed from Shanghai on July 20, 2026, arrived at the Port of New York and New Jersey on August 27, and were delivered on August 31.

Customer Requirements

The customer needed both containers to reach its warehouse within the same receiving period. Warehouse staff had to check the products by model before preparing smaller orders for regional delivery.

The shipment included bulky chair cartons and heavier cabinet packages. Poor stacking could damage chair components or bend cabinet panels. The loading plan therefore needed to balance space use with packaging protection.

Clear product identification was another priority. Each carton needed a visible model number and quantity so warehouse staff could sort the shipment efficiently.

Cargo Collection and Packing Checks

The goods arrived at the consolidation warehouse between July 15 and July 17.

Our team checked the carton counts, dimensions, and gross weights against the suppliers’ packing lists. Warehouse staff also inspected the external packaging and replaced damaged outer cartons before loading.

Protective inserts kept chair components separated inside their cartons. Cabinet panels were packed with edge protection, while hardware bags were secured within the corresponding packages.

The final packing lists identified which products would travel in each container.

Container Loading and Ocean Transport

Both containers were loaded on July 18.

The loading team placed heavier cabinet packages in stable lower positions and distributed their weight along the container floors. Chair cartons were stacked according to their packaging limits. Suitable securing materials reduced gaps and limited movement.

Before sealing the containers, staff photographed the load and recorded the container numbers, seal numbers, and carton totals.

The shipment departed from Shanghai on July 20. During transit, our team monitored schedule updates and kept the customer informed of the expected arrival.

Customs Coordination and Local Delivery

Before arrival, our team supplied shipment documents to the customer’s appointed customs broker and coordinated responses to requests for additional product details.

The containers arrived on August 27. After customs release and terminal availability were confirmed, the trucking team arranged collection and booked two delivery appointments for August 31.

Staggered appointments allowed the warehouse to unload the first container before receiving the second.

Delivery Results

Both containers reached the Edison warehouse on August 31. Receiving staff checked the seals before unloading and matched the carton totals against the packing lists. No visible external packaging damage was recorded during the receiving check.

The separate container packing lists helped staff locate each product model and organize the next stage of distribution.

From departure to warehouse delivery, the shipment took 42 calendar days, including 38 days between departure and port arrival. Coordinated packing, document preparation, and delivery appointments kept the two-container shipment organized throughout the project.
