What Challenges Did the Customer Face?

The cargo contained finished aluminum frames and glass panels. These products could be damaged by impact, pressure, moisture, or movement inside the container.

Several crates were more than two meters long. The warehouse team could not load them in the same way as standard cartons.

The customer also wanted to avoid unloading and reloading the cargo several times. Too much handling could increase the risk of scratches, broken glass, or missing accessories.

Another challenge involved the final delivery address. The customer’s warehouse was in Phoenix, which was more than 350 miles from the Port of Long Beach. The shipment therefore required both ocean freight and long-distance trucking.

The customer did not have an internal customs team. The customer needed Efan Logistics to coordinate the import process and provide one complete door-to-door solution.

How Did Efan Logistics Prepare the Shipment?

Efan Logistics collected the commercial invoice, packing list, product descriptions, crate dimensions, cargo weight, supplier address, and delivery information before arranging pickup.

Our team also asked the supplier to provide photographs of the finished products and packaging.

The photographs showed that four crates had weak external supports. Our operations team asked the supplier to strengthen these crates before loading.

The supplier added corner protection, foam padding, stronger wooden supports, and additional fastening straps. The team also separated the glass panels from heavy metal accessories to reduce direct pressure.

After the packaging was confirmed, Efan Logistics arranged container loading at the supplier’s factory in Foshan.

Transportation Execution Process

1. Factory Pickup and Container Positioning

An empty 40HQ container was delivered to the supplier’s factory on April 9, 2026.

The driver and loading team checked the container floor, side walls, doors, and internal condition before loading started.

The supplier loaded the 72 wooden crates according to the agreed loading plan. Larger crates were placed first, while smaller accessory crates were placed in the remaining spaces.

The loading team used wooden blocks, fastening straps, and protective materials to reduce cargo movement during transportation.

2. Cargo Loading Inspection

The team checked the crate numbers against the packing list during loading.

All 72 crates were loaded into the container. The final cargo weight was 18,760 kg, and the total volume was approximately 58.4 CBM.

The team photographed the loading process and sent the images to the customer.

After loading was completed, the container doors were closed and the seal number was recorded.

3. Export Declaration

The sealed container was transported from Foshan to Yantian Port.

Before departure, the operations team reviewed the product names, declared values, quantities, gross weight, packaging information, and consignee details.

The export declaration was completed, and the container was accepted at the port before the vessel cutoff time.

4. Ocean Freight from Shenzhen to Long Beach

The container departed from Yantian Port on April 12, 2026.

Efan Logistics selected an ocean service that matched the customer’s required delivery schedule. The container remained sealed during the main ocean transportation process.

The vessel arrived at the Port of Long Beach on May 1, 2026.

The customer received updates after container loading, customs declaration, vessel departure, arrival, customs release, and final delivery.

5. U.S. Customs Clearance

The U.S. customs clearance process started after the shipment arrived.

Because the documents had been checked before departure, the customs broker did not need to request a major correction to the commercial invoice or packing list.

The container was released on May 4, 2026.

6. Delivery from Long Beach to Phoenix
