The Client’s Main Concerns

The client first considered LCL shipping because the cargo did not fill an entire container. However, the machines had several exposed connection points and precision components. Repeated loading and unloading during an LCL shipment could increase the risk of impact damage.

The client also needed support with export documents, U.S. customs clearance and delivery scheduling. The receiving warehouse required an appointment before accepting the container.

Our Shipping Solution

After checking the cargo dimensions and weight, the EFAN Logistics team recommended a 20GP FCL container.

Although the container had unused space, FCL reduced cargo handling during transit. The nine cases could remain inside the same sealed container from Ningbo to Los Angeles. This solution also made loading, securing and final delivery easier to control.

Before pickup, our team reviewed the commercial invoice, packing list, product descriptions and customs classification information. We also checked the consignee details and the documents needed for U.S. import clearance.

The supplier packed the machine components in export-grade plywood cases. Moisture-resistant material was placed inside each case. The loading team used wooden blocks, straps and protective padding to limit movement inside the container.

Transportation Process

Our truck collected the cargo from the supplier’s factory in Yuyao and transported it to the loading location in Ningbo. The cargo was inspected before loading, and each case number was checked against the packing list.

After loading was completed, the container was sealed and delivered to Ningbo-Zhoushan Port. Export customs procedures were completed before the vessel’s departure.

During the sea voyage, our team monitored the container status and shared updates with the client. The U.S. customs documents were prepared before the vessel arrived in Los Angeles. This allowed the clearance process to begin without waiting for additional paperwork.

After the container became available at the port, our local delivery partner collected it and transported it to the customer’s warehouse in Ontario. The delivery appointment was confirmed in advance so the warehouse could prepare its unloading team and equipment.

The Result

The shipment arrived within the planned delivery window. All nine cases were delivered without visible damage, and the warehouse completed unloading on the scheduled day.

The 20GP FCL solution cost more than a basic LCL shipment, but it reduced handling and gave the client better control over the schedule. The customer was able to begin equipment installation without delaying the local project.
